BEACHES - Turks and Caicos is an island in the Caribbean very close to the Bahamas. 3.15 hour non stop flight from Boston. It is rumored to have the best beaches in the Caribbean. That's more than one mans' opinion, it's the opinion of everyone I have talked to who has been there!
Upon arrival at the airport you can immediately see the beautiful blue water and white sand beaches. Based on all that I had heard about the beach, I had very high expectations and I must say, it lived up to my expectations +more!
The resort is comprised of three buildings or villages: Caribbean Village, French Village, and the Italian Village. They all have their own feel to them and, having viewed guestrooms in all three sections, I have to say that I was impressed with the rooms from the bottom to the top category. I stayed in the Italian Village - the newest village - in a 2 bedroom concierge suite. Beautiful room.
Beaches is branded with Sesame Street and you never know when you'll see Elmo, Grover, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie and all the other characters. The children will love the water park and pool area with a pirate ship and a kid size restaurant with all their favorite foods - pizza, ice cream, hot dogs hamburgers, popcorn all day long.
It is a family resort, but they do have some adult only restaurants and bars for those looking for a quiet dinner. The disco "Liquid" is great and the DJ's are all from "Scratch Academy." There are 16 dining choices on the resort and only very few require reservations.
The staff were all very friendly and service was exceptional. The staff is comprised of locals and staff from Sandals/Beaches Jamaica resorts who have all been very well trained with the Sandals/Beaches service standards.
If you like luxury accomodations, beautiful beaches, great food + great service, all with a fun family atmosphere, I recommend you look at Beaches Turks & Caicos. I will carry with me the memory of floating in that beautiful ocean with a pina colada in my hand! I would love to talk with anyone interested in traveling to Turks and Caicos!
